Over a Decade of Observation
Aephyros was founded by Kristine Kawakubo, the founder of @kooollektoor. After graduating from the University of the Arts London in 2014, she established 'kooollektoor', a gallery devoted to exploring the possibilities of the visual. Her work encompasses art direction, branding, printmaking and design criticism.

Beauty comes from continually questioning established frameworks, not from following them. Each piece begins with a concept rather than a preconceived form, moving freely between disciplines to create its own visual language.

Aephyros is the natural continuation of that journey. The brand transforms years of observation and experience into something that can be worn, bringing the rigour of a concept-led gallery wall to clothing. Every silhouette, fabric and proportion must withstand scrutiny and keep asking: what kind of beauty can endure, quietly and lastingly?

Aephyros Turns Clothing into a Sanctuary for the Soul
We reject the transience of fast fashion, striving to create garments that will keep you company for years. Drawing inspiration from 'mytho-poetic minimalism', the brand eliminates every unnecessary complication to achieve a pure, unframed state. The name and spirit of Aephyros stem from the fusion of three fundamental philosophies: Aether, Physis and Zephyros.

Aether (Pure)
Letting go of all excess and returning to the purest and most authentic state. This purity is embodied by Aephyros's unwavering commitment to minimalist aesthetics and our uncompromising standard for quality, realised through the rigorous selection of every fabric.

Physis (Nature)
Following the natural form of the body, without artifice or constraint. We focus on fluid, structural tailoring and the truest feel of the cloth, so that each garment, like a second skin, sits quietly within your everyday life.

Zephyros (Freedom)
Like a gentle west wind in summer, light and free of pressure. It is the feeling of shedding the day's weariness and enjoying an unconstrained, breeze-like ease.

Beyond Seasons, Alongside Time
Aephyros does not follow the fashion calendar. Although our collections are named after seasons, our designs are not bound by them. We do not create pieces destined to go out of season, nor do we chase trends.
